10th May, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd anniversary celebration of VOCO Hotel Seoul Gangnam. This exclusive private event featured the hotel's signature yellow-themed interiors, delicious finger foods, and fine Australian wine.

‘VOCO’ IHG Hotels Group has launched a new hotel brand in recent years. Named 'voco,' the name is derived from the Latin word meaning 'to invite' and 'call together.' The hotel brand embodies a cheerful image and is designed to offer a unique voco style experience from check-in to check-out.

Why I visit VOCO Hotel?

As a travel influencer, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd anniversary celebration private party at VOCO Hotel Seoul Gangnam. While the brand name 'voco' may not be widely recognized among locals in Korea yet, many foreign tourists who have visited Seoul are already aware of the excellent value this hotel offers. Particularly, the area of 'Gangnam' showcases the vibrant cityscape both day and night, and its convenient access to various attractions via public transportation makes it a highly popular accommodation choice among Korean travelers as well. In fact, approximately 80% of the guests are reported to be international tourists.

VOCO Hotel Seoul Gangnam hosted a special party to celebrate its 2nd anniversary, inviting a select group of VIPs: Korean Travel Influencers, Customers, and so on. The event aimed to commemorate the hotel's success and provide a memorable experience for its guests.

Food and Drinks

The party offered a variety of tasty finger foods and Australian wine. The fresh, high-quality ingredients of the finger foods were a highlight, perfectly complemented by the exquisite wine selection. According to the hotel's marketing manager, the dishes served at the hotel restaurant 'Amarillo,' which specializes in international cuisine, are also known for their exceptional taste.

Interior and Atmosphere

The hotel’s signature yellow-themed interiors created a vibrant and lively atmosphere. The elegant decor and lighting added to the festive ambiance of the celebration.

Charm of the Private Event

The exclusivity of the event made it even more special. With a limited number of attendees, the party felt more personal and intimate, allowing for meaningful interactions and a unique experience. 

Here's an interesting fact: Most of the people gathered at the celebration that day were meeting each other for the first time, yet they quickly became friends as they shared the same table and engaged in conversation. The reason? A camera operator was capturing our photos, prompting us to smile wider and chat more enthusiastically, fostering quick camaraderie.

The party took place on the outdoor terrace, located right in front of the hotel entrance. As the evening progressed, the neon signs of Gangnam began to light up one by one, providing a backdrop of Seoul's bustling cityscape with office workers heading home, adding to the realization of being right in the heart of Seoul.

Conclusion & Experience

The 2nd anniversary celebration at VOCO Hotel Seoul Gangnam was a resounding success, featuring stunning interiors, delectable food, and the allure of a private event, creating an unforgettable evening. I anticipate more exciting events from VOCO Hotel in the future. Through the party, I met amazing staff members and heard the passionate stories of a sommelier who loves wine. As an IHG hotel member living close to Seoul, I now aspire to stay here someday. Additionally, I look forward to trying the new menu at Amarillo All-Day Dining Restaurant. It was a successful celebration, and I am excited about the hotel's future.
