한밀손칼국수, LOCAL FOOD NEAR RAMADA PLAZA HOTEL

 This is a small local restaurant in Suwon city, it's cheap, feel full and tasty. As a local, I visit this restaurant twice a month at least. It's near historical area, Suwon Hwaseung fortress so you can get here very easily. When you traveling Suwon more than 4 days, this place is worth a visit.

'Kalguksu' is a Korean dish made with wheat noodles, made by hand and cutting with a knife. WiKi said that Koreans usually eat noodle soup a lot in the summer season, but many Koreans eat any season because it is one of the popular meal in here.

‘Hanmil son kalguksu’ means ‘hanmil’ is the name, ‘son’ means ‘hand’ in Korean, ‘kalguksu’ is ‘noodle soup’. The owner of this small restaurant, he is very nice and welcome visitors with his heart.

As you can see, this is very small local restaurant in Suwon, village people often visit this place. Owner cook himself, only 4 types of kalguksu so you don’t need to consider what to eat. I recommend you should order ‘kaljebi, 7,000 won (KRW)’. (There is two types of menu by shapes of noodle, kaljebi means kalguksu+sujebi.)

In spring and summer he add menu in this restaurant with 'kong guksu', I couldn't eat yet, so I will visit again and try to kong guksu next time. Kong guksu mean cold soy soup noodle. It is traditional Korean food too. Koreans eat this menu in summer season.

My husband and I ordered 2 Kaljebi. He offered Kimchi as a side dish. It is not that strong tasty so you can enjoy easily. When you visit Korea and go to the restaurant, you will find that Kimchi is an essential side dish in Korean cuisine. I also like Kimchi but I'm a difficult woman to see because I'm not eat Kimchi everyday. Just sometimes eat them. Maybe I love breads and desserts much more. But I'm still loving Korean traditional food!
