Suwon Indian Restaurant Everest 영통 에베레스트

Suwon Indian Restaurant 수원 인도음식점

This is my second visit to eat Indian food at Everest Suwon, located near Suwon Samsung. The nearest subway stations are Youngtong or CheongMyeong. Actually, this restaurant is a branch of Everest in Dongdaemoon, Seoul. I visited the Dongdaemoon restaurant almost 15 years ago, and I really loved it. There are many customers and travelers who visit Seoul for a trip. I heard that someone wrote a positive review about this restaurant in the Seoul Food Guide Book.

The surprising fact was that I found the same restaurant name during my trip to Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, Japan. I don't know if they have branches worldwide, but I believe it must be a delicious Indian restaurant. The most important thing is that it is a restaurant I frequently visit, and here in Suwon, Yeongtong-gu, I can enjoy the most generous Indian cuisine.

'EVEREST INDIAN RESTAURANT' is located on the 2nd floor of the Moonwon Building. While dining, you can enjoy the cityscape of Yeongtong-gu. Did you know that? Even in the city, you can clearly see the changing seasons. In the current winter season, if you're lucky, you might even get to enjoy the scenery of falling snow.

The theme of the restaurant is 'Indian cuisine,' but it started as the first Nepalese restaurant operated by a Nepalese couple in Korea in 2002. They offer a variety of local dishes, including curries and snacks prepared using various local cooking methods, tandoori (oven) dishes, and traditional Nepalese beverages. One of the popular menu items is the Chicken Tikka, where chicken marinated with various spices is cooked in the tandoor. Another favorite is the Chicken Makhani Curry, made by cooking chicken in tandoor and adding cheese, cream, and tomatoes. Although prices have been continuously rising due to inflation, it still provides excellent value for money.

If I were to recommend a menu, choosing a set menu when visiting with two or more people is the most economical option. The A SET, designed for two people, is priced at 32,000KRW. It includes soup, naan, rice, curry, lassi or chai tea, and half tandoori chicken. If you are visiting with four or more people, I recommend ordering the C SET, priced at 71,000KRW. It includes 4 soups, naan, rice, 3 curries, lassi or tea (4 servings), and a whole tandoori chicken.

It's likely difficult to find a place in South Korea that offers larger Indian-style naan than this restaurant. In addition to Yeongtong in Suwon, you can visit various locations such as Dongdaemun, Yangjae, Lotte Dongtan, Hanam Starfield, and they also offer takeout and delivery services. If you're looking for an Indian restaurant that Koreans love, consider visiting 'EVEREST.'
